Night of Photography is the central event and the highlight of the Tbilisi Photo Festival, with at least 7,000 people coming each year to see some of the best images from across the globe. It was launched in 2010 as a Caucasian version of the Arles Photo Festival’s “La Nuit de l’Annee”.
On Saturday, September 16th, from 20.00, 8 large media screens will be set up in Fabrika – on the roof top, lobby, restaurant, courtyard and even loundry – all the space of this multifunctional urban space will be occupied by the screenings featuring the very fresh international photography.
The works on show are provided by more than 30 different festivals, agencies, organisations, Institutions and publications, online platforms. in 2017 Tbilisi Photo Festival welcomes the new partners of Tbilisi Night of Photography: British Journal of Photography, The Eye of Photography, Vogue (Italy), Vlisco, Delhi Photo Festival, Vasa Project, Finish Museum of Photography, Ibaso Gallery (Belgium), Nargis Magazine (Azerbaijan), Yol Magazine, Georgian Agency of Protected Areas, AKV St. Joost Breda Scool of Photography (Netherlands), Docjikng Station, Singular Lens, FK Magazine (Latvia) and Fotomatiane – joint project of Geocell and National Library of Georgia.
The works of participants of Tbilisi Photo Festival Masterclass in Shenako with Yuri Kozyrev/Noor and Justyna Mielnikievicz will be featured also in the program of Night of Photography 2017 in Fabrika!
Among the traditional partners of Night of Photogrpahy are : Les Rencontres d’Arles with the selection of the program of Night of the Year screened in Tbilisi in memoru of late Claudine Maugendre, Lensculture, Angkor Photo Festival, Indigo Magazine, Ria Keburia Gallery, National Geographic Georgia and Error Images, Prafota (Belarus).
Night of Photography has become one of the outstanding annual cultural events in the Georgian capital.
The works of around 400 photographers will be featured in the program of Tbilisi Night of Photography 2017.
